If you’ve ever been to a comic store, toy store, or even Barnes and Noble, you’ve seen Funko POP! collectables. I even have one of MLP Doctor Whooves. I’ve only seen three episodes of the show, but anything Doctor Who (even a pony) I will probably drop money on. And I thought with that I was fulfilled my random collectable desire. It’s the kind of thing if you get really into it, you can spend hundreds of dollars trying to collect ’em all, Pokémon style. Also, I’m a total hoarder with no room to put stuff I need, much less things I don’t. But then I saw on Like Gwen Stacy, there is a Sixteen Candles series of Funko POP! collectables and if the Jake one doesn’t have the most sensitive eyes I’ve ever seen on an inanimate, vinyl object…I mean, JUST LOOK AT HIM!

So of course this led me down the rabbit hole of all Funko has to offer. And of course there are tons of options for TV, movies, Disney, superheroes, GoT, Marvel, etc, etc, goodbye hard earned money. But the ones that seriously keep me up at night, rearranging my bookshelf and budgeting for are the Ghostbusters and The Breakfast Club versions. I mean it’s no surprise that I LOVE all things Ghostbusters and that I may be extendedly related to Ernie Hudson (I know, right?!).
But in high school me and my ultra cool friends (read: art nerds) LOVED The Breakfast Club, going as far as picking characters we related to. I was “the criminal” Judd Nelson (total badass!)
But look at these masterpieces!
I seriously need every single one of these. Feel free to send one over to me as a belated birthday gift or whatever!
I know I’m not alone in this new obsession. Check out the Funko page and let me know which one(s) you’re jonesing for.
Allons-y!
